City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo, State Senator Mark Leno Introduce New Measure To Tighten Billboard Regulations

State Sen. Mark Leno

Our state laws are far more protective of the interests of billboard companies than of the public’s interest in a visual environment that isn’t completely degraded by commercial advertising.   Our City Attorney and a State Senator have teamed up on a bill that, if successful, would help tilt the balance back in the direction of the public interest.  Click here to read the press release announcing introduction of the bill.

The City Attorney has also set up a web page for citizens to complain about violations of the moratorium on any new digital billboards and supergraphic signs.  If you’ve seen one of these go up after Dec. 26, 2008, register a complaint  here.
