The idea of brightly-lighted digital ads flashing every few seconds on the sides of buses maneuvering through L.A.’s congested streets struck many as a singularly bad idea.  The plan to raise revenue this way was first hatched by officials of Santa Monica’s Big Blue Bus system, which runs routes in L.A. as well as that seaside city.  But now those officials are having second thoughts, and the city appears to be shelving the plan, at least temporarily.  Click here for more on why the city may be coming to its senses, albeit not for the reasons stated above.
